Job Description of ‘Planning, Cost Control & Estimation Engineer’ Engineering Dept  

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update and maintain a Planning, Cost control and estimation system
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled (master) plannings, reports and updates (ad hoc, daily, weekly, monthly, annual, …)
  • Verify critical path and interfaces between design/engineering/procurement/execution
  • Prepares cash flow, charts & histogram on planning projects
  • Reports the status of the project progress against the plan schedule and provides corrective actions necessary if the planned schedule is not achieved
  • Responsible to control and monitor project total expenditure including verifying and checking of payment requests from suppliers, contractors and consultants to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded
  • Project cost estimation
  • Provide planning and cost controlling support for the projects which includes variation reporting, monitoring of milestone progress, etc.
  • Knowledge of design standards, procedures and permits (construction, connection, environmental, …) would be an asset
  • Coordinate and work with the project management team to resolve project issues to ensure the delivery/completion of the project work
  • External and internal coordination to handle requests and queries from the department manager and BOD

Requirements:

  • Degree of civil engineer with a minimum of at least seven (07) years experience, with minimum three (03) years of background experience in the planning of design/engineering activities, relevant and similar capacity in project estimating and cost controlling with specialization in Project Management or Cost Control related training
  • Knowledge and experience with Navision (experience with implementation of Navision is an added value)
  • Good knowledge of engineering/design scope, job working instruction/procedures, good project control practices in planning and scheduling and overall awareness of project
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Project, MS excel, MS word, in particular)
  • Knowledge and experience with Primavera is an added value
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Vietnamese and English)
  • Good time management and the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Proactive, self-motivated, strong initiative, analytical mind set and problem solving attitude
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and meticulous
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Good report writing abilities
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Possess good project background and technical writing ability and skills
  • Ability to work independently and in working team
