Vietnam has recently successfully established itself as the leading destination for foreign direct investment, thanks to its increasing integration with world markets. Its FTA network is currently connecting Vietnam to 68% of the world population.
Further, the biggest seaport and industrial hub of North Vietnam - Haiphong city has invested massively in state-of-the-art multimodal infrastructures. The first ship in the direct shipping route to US was recently launched in April 2019, minimizing transportation time and risk. These developments together with other advantages bring tremendous business opportunities for manufacturing, logistics and service companies.

The Vietnamese government has been actively teaming up with the business community to reduce plastic waste by implementing different models of the circular economy, with an aim towards achieving sustainable development.

On May 11, 2019, City of Kitakyushu and DEEP C Industrial Zones (DEEP C) signed a memorandum of understanding on Business Investment in the presence of leaders from Haiphong People’s Committee, Haiphong Economic Zone Authority (HEZA), Haiphong Department of Foreign Affairs, Haiphong Department of Industry and Trade.

With the growing demand for manufacturing and storage facilities which has become more specific and sophisticated, DEEP C continues to expand its ready-built workshop/warehouse project in DEEP C Haiphong I Industrial Zone. Workshop unit 3 is currently under construction next to the existing workshop unit 1 & 2 and is scheduled to be fully operational as from July.

 The northern port city of Haiphong is ramping up efforts to develop its industrial and logistics market. The port-connected DEEP C Industrial Zones are expected to take advantage of new opportunities from the current development plans. Hans Kersten, head of Sales and Marketing at DEEP C, shared with VIR’s Thanh Van his insight into the prospects of the city, and how the group can help accelerate these new development plans.
